Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Omair Ahmed is a Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Goldfinch.
Prior to founding Goldfinch, Omair served as Chief Operating Officer and member of the Board of Directors at Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. After joining Nexus in 2011 as Director of Trade Relations, he quickly advanced to positions of increasing responsibility within the commercial business. During his tenure, he was responsible for growth strategy and strategic partnerships to continue to expand Nexus’ global reach and impact. Under his leadership, Nexus successfully divested its state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in 2024.
Prior to Nexus, Omair worked in field sales at Beckman Coulter. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the University of Wisconsin – Parkside Foundation.
Omair holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Principal Investor
Prior to founding Goldfinch, Usman served as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors at Nexus Pharmaceuticals, LLC.
After joining Nexus in 2009 as VP of Finance and Business Development, he was first promoted to the Chief Financial Officer and then the Chief Executive Offices role as he continuously set and achieved strategic goals for the business. Usman executed complex transactions, drove quality improvement, and expense reduction in the difficult-to-manufacture specialty and generic injectable drug space.
Recognized for his ability to build high-achieving teams under constant organizational change. Under his leadership, Nexus successfully divested its state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in 2024. Prior to Nexus, Usman worked as an Associate at J.P. Morgan. Usman holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from The Ohio State University.
Principal Investor
Prior to Goldfinch, Aman began his career at Nexus Pharmaceuticals, LLC in 2017, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors. As the Director of International Sales, he oversees the International Business Development, managing the company’s portfolio of products across multiple global regions.
With over seven years of experience, Aman has developed expertise in sales operations, navigating DEA and FDA regulations, inside sales, and portfolio management across various therapeutic lines. At Nexus, he was paramount in the strategic expansion of the Pleasant Prairie manufacturing facility and subsequent divestiture to Eli Lilly.
His investment interests span healthcare, sustainability, and entertainment. Aman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management and Policy from Indiana University.
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Evan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Goldfinch including financial reporting, tax, treasury, compliance, and investment committee functions.
Prior to joining Goldfinch, Evan served as a Principal for a single-family office where he spent seven years scaling the office’s operations and build-out of a direct investing platform. He navigated the family through wealth events, leading to headcount expansion, systems implementations, and proactive estate planning. Through that experience, he oversaw all asset management, served on boards of middle-market companies, invested in and advised start-ups, bought and sold real estate assets, and sat on numerous investment committees.
Prior, he operated a multi-generation family office and worked in fund administration. Evan holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from Drake University, Master of Business Administration from DePaul University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
General Counsel
Jonathan Epstein joined Goldfinch as General Counsel in July 2025.
Prior to joining Goldfinch, Jonathan was a Senior Counsel with the Securities & Exchange Commission’s Chicago office where he led complex investigations into violations of the federal securities laws, as well as fraud in connection with the offering and sale of securities. Jonathan also served as a trial attorney with the Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s Chicago office, where he investigated and prosecuted violations of federal criminal law, including price fixing, bid rigging, and mail/wire fraud. Jonathan also worked as an associate with Cooley Godward’s Boulder, Colorado office, as well as Crowell & Moring’s Washington, D.C. office.
Jonathan graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School (J.D. 1996) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (B.A. 1992) where he majored in history. Jonathan also completed a non-degree year of post-graduate study at the University of Bristol (England).
Chief Technology Officer
Lara brings more than two decades of experience leading enterprise technology strategy, digital transformation, and global infrastructure services. As Chief Technology Officer at Goldfinch Capital Partners, she designs and implements the firm’s technology vision including building secure, scalable systems to support portfolio companies and leveraging emerging technologies to drive growth and efficiency.
Prior to Goldfinch, Lara held senior technology leadership roles at Nexus Pharmaceuticals, Stericycle, AmerisourceBergen, and ManpowerGroup, where she led large-scale global software deployments, infrastructure modernization initiatives, and enterprise cloud transformations. Lara has built strategies that reduce risk, eliminate technical debt, and deliver measurable ROI across highly regulated industries.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Northern Illinois University.
Strategic Operations
As Strategic Operations lead at Goldfinch Capital Partners, Jimmy focuses on execution across the firm’s investment, development, and operating initiatives, helping position projects for operational excellence and long-term value creation.
Prior to Goldfinch, he spent seven years as a professional basketball player, competing internationally in Europe and the United States, including the NBA Summer League. After retiring from sports, he transitioned into private investing, applying the discipline and resilience gained from athletics to strategic planning, project development, and partnerships.
Jimmy holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside, where he competed as an NCAA basketball player.
Director of Executive Operations
As Director of Executive Operations at Goldfinch, Alicen brings over a decade of marketing and organizational leadership experience to the team. Serving as a trusted partner to the leadership team she ensures seamless alignment across executive priorities, strategic initiatives, and day-to-day operations.
Prior to joining Goldfinch, Alicen spent 10 years in B2B marketing, where she led cross-functional teams, developed go-to-market strategies, and supported sales efforts. Alicen leverages a unique blend of marketing expertise and operational acumen to drive efficiency, scale initiatives, and support Goldfinches’ principals.
Alicen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from a private liberal arts university.
